LVP & Vinyl Flooring
Luxury vinyl plank, SPC rigid core, and WPC comfort core — waterproof, durable flooring installed with the same precision we bring to every tile project.
Free In-Home LVP Estimate →Luxury vinyl plank has become one of the most requested flooring materials in the Phoenix metro — and for good reason. Modern LVP combines a photorealistic design layer (available in dozens of wood and stone looks) with a rigid or semi-rigid core that handles everything Arizona throws at it: monsoon humidity swings, dry desert winters, and high foot traffic. At Albaner Tile and Stone, we install LVP flooring throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, and the surrounding metro with the same attention to detail we bring to every tile project.
There are two primary LVP core types, and we install both. SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) rigid core is the most durable option — extremely dense, dimensionally stable, and ideal for high-traffic areas, rooms with significant temperature variation, or spaces over concrete slab. WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) has a slightly softer, warmer feel underfoot and is a great choice for bedrooms, home offices, and living areas where comfort is a priority. Both are 100% waterproof through the core — an important distinction from older vinyl products.
A proper LVP installation starts well before the first plank goes down. We check the subfloor for flatness — LVP requires a surface flat within 3/16" per 10 feet, and any low spots or high points must be addressed first. We allow planks to acclimate to the room's temperature, plan the layout to avoid narrow cut pieces at doorways and walls, and finish every edge with the appropriate transition strips or stair nosing.
When existing flooring needs to go, we handle the removal and disposal as part of the project. Old carpet, glued-down vinyl, laminate, or tile can all be demoed before new LVP goes in.
One of the things that sets us apart is our ability to handle LVP and tile in the same project. A popular configuration in Phoenix homes is LVP throughout the living areas, hallways, and bedrooms, combined with porcelain or travertine tile in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. Because we do both, you deal with one contractor, one timeline, and one set of expectations — and the transitions between materials come out clean and intentional. Already have tile in your bathrooms and kitchen? Ask about our popular tile + LVP combo projects.
LVP is also an excellent choice for Arizona pet owners. The wear layer resists scratches from claws, and because the core is waterproof, accidents don't damage the floor or the subfloor beneath. Whether you're updating a rental, renovating a primary residence, or finishing a new addition, we'll help you choose the right product and install it correctly.

LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) is a multi-layer synthetic flooring with a rigid or semi-rigid core, a photographic design layer, and a durable wear surface. It's 100% waterproof, handles the humidity swings from monsoon season to dry desert winter without warping or gapping, and holds up well in heat. Unlike real hardwood, LVP won't cup, buckle, or shrink in Phoenix's climate. It's also pet-friendly, scratch-resistant, and available in realistic wood and stone looks nearly indistinguishable from natural materials.
LVP installation labor in Phoenix typically runs $3–$7 per square foot depending on the complexity of the layout, subfloor conditions, and whether existing flooring needs to be removed. Stair nosing, custom transitions, and subfloor leveling can affect the overall total. We offer free in-home estimates so you get an accurate number before any work begins.
Sometimes — the subfloor must be flat within 3/16" per 10 feet for LVP to perform correctly. We assess the existing surface at the estimate appointment. Concrete slab and solid, well-bonded tile are often good bases. Carpet must always be removed first. Uneven or damaged subfloors require leveling or patching before any planks go down.
Most single rooms take 1–2 days. A whole-home project typically runs 3–5 days depending on square footage and the number of doorways, transitions, and stair sections involved. If existing flooring needs to be removed and disposed of, add approximately one day for demo. We'll give you a specific timeline at your free estimate.
Yes — and it's one of our most popular project types. Many Phoenix homeowners choose LVP for their living areas, bedrooms, and hallways, then use porcelain or travertine tile in bathrooms, the kitchen, and laundry rooms. Because Albaner handles both materials, you get one contractor, one schedule, and properly finished transitions between the two flooring types.
